After a successful 2008 season, our International Team continues to push to new levels. New ideas, new products and more time ever spent on race sail development will show Gaastra/Tabou’s commitment to excellence for 2009 and beyond.
Starting off with our racing team, Kevin Pritchard and Ross Williams will be joined once again by Arnon Dagan and Cedric Bordes. Pre- season testing saw some big progress gained on the Vapor’s and the boys are ramped up to kick things off this season. On the women’s side, from Israel, Lee Korzits who placed 5th place overall on the PWA women’s tour will join Valerie Guibado (2nd Place) to battle for the number one slot- should be an interesting year on tour!
Our wave guys, Thomas Traversa, Ross Williams and Kevin Pritchard will be putting the current 09’s to the test as everyone that rides the wave sails is VERY IMPRESSED!! Cabo Verde hosts the first PWA wave event of the year- hopefully conditions will pull through this year for another record-breaking event. Japan’s Junko Nagoshi has stepped on the Tabou boards and is sailing extremely well- she will be showcasing the boards in her quest to a World Championship!
The Freestyle team continues to push for more performance. Lighter, stronger, faster and easier is what every freestyler needs and Dan Kaseler is the man for the job. Team Bonaire is in effect with Kiri Thode and Tonky Frans leading the charge for Gaastra. Kiri is poised for a World Title any day now and 09 should be his year- Keep an eye out for him. Tonky has the goods to deliver top performances with his stylistic approach to windsurfing. Thomas Traversa will do a couple events but his focus remains on finding the best wind and waves in the world! Junko will be battling with the girls trying to get to the top of the podium- watch and see!
The world’s newest windsurfing brand, VANDAL also boasts about some new riders- Antony Ruenes the Freestyle master will be joined by wave sensation Alex Mussolini. Alex hails from Spain and is one of the best wave sailors on the planet! Any wind condition, Alex can rip the waves to pieces. His talents are very welcomed to Vandal and we look forward to helping him achieve his goal of being World Champion.
Thanks for a great 2008 and here’s to an even better 2009! Please welcome the Gaastra/Tabou/Vandal Team 2009
